Together Toward Entrepreneurship & Innovation

A Day to Inspire Change

On November 20, 2025, the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship came alive at the GIL Innovation Lab, The Spot Choueifat, during the “Together Toward Entrepreneurship and Innovation” event, co-organized by Rural Entrepreneurs (RE) and the Municipality of Choueifat.

The gathering brought together more than 50 inspiring participants, including mayors and municipal members from the region, senior officials from the Ministry of Education TVET DG Office, school directors, youth organizations, NGOs, cultural and social activists, and a vibrant community of young entrepreneurs and startup founders, all committed to driving positive change.
The event highlighted RE’s achievements in the region through its various programs, particularly the GIL – Generation of Innovation Leaders Program, powered by UNICEF and funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Participants also toured RE’s fully equipped innovation hub in Choueifat, designed to strengthen collaboration, empower youth, and expand the regional innovation ecosystem.

Key Highlights
  • Hicham Richani, Council Member at Choueifat Municipality and Head of the Media & Communications Committee, emphasized the importance of youth-led initiatives and active local associations, reaffirming the municipality’s ongoing support for innovation, technology, and AI-driven efforts in the city.
  • Haitham Saab, Founder & President of Rural Entrepreneurs, presented RE’s vision and ecosystem strategy, encouraging stronger collaboration among local, regional, and international partners.
  • Jessica Hanna, Development & Innovation Officer at UNICEF, highlighted the role of UNICEF in empowering youth and communities, praising RE as a key partner across several regions.
  • Intissar Sayegh, Choueifat Lab Manager at RE and Master of Ceremony, moderated the event and presented the organization’s programs, achievements, and long-term community impact.

A personal success story by Christina Yehya, former GIL participant and current RE Outreach Officer
These stories reflected the real impact of RE programs and the transformative opportunities offered to young innovators.

Recognition, Tour & Networking
The event concluded with appreciation trophies presented to:
• The Mayor of the City of Choueifat, Mr. Nidal Al Jurdi
• UNICEF Lebanon Country Office
followed by a guided tour of the innovation lab and a networking cocktail, where new partnerships and collaborative ideas emerged.

This memorable gathering embodied the values of innovation, collaboration, and youth empowerment. A day that continues to inspire entrepreneurs and changemakers across the region.

معًا نحو الريادة والابتكار

يوم مُلهِم للتغيير

في 20 تشرين الثاني 2025 ، تجسّدت روح الابتكار وريادة الأعمال في مختبر جيل للابتكار, سبوت مول
الشويفات خلال فعالية “معًا نحو الريادة والابتكار” التي نظّمتها جمعية رواد الأعمال في الأرياف بالتعاون مع
بلدية مدينة الشويفات.

ضمّ الحدث أكثر من 50 مشاركًا ملهمًا، بما في ذلك رؤساء بلديات وأعضاء مجالس بلدية من المنطقة، إضافة إلى ممثلين عن المديرية العامة للتعليم المهني في وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي، ومديري مدارس و ثانويات رسمية وخاصة، وممثلي منظمات شبابية ومحلية ودولية، وناشطين اجتماعيين وثقافيين، ورواد أعمال شباب وأصحاب شركات ناشئة. سلّطت الفعالية الضوء على برامج وإنجازات الجمعية في المنطقة، وبشكل خاص برنامج جيل – جيل الأفكار الرائدة المدعوم من اليونيسف والمموّل من مملكة هولندا. كما تجوّل الحضور في مساحة الابتكار المجهزة بالكامل، والتي تُعد مركزًا لتعزيز التعاون وتمكين الشباب وتوسيع منظومة الابتكار .
أبرز ما جاء في الفعالية:

• السيد هشام الريشاني، عضو المجلس البلدي ورئيس لجنة الإعلام والاتصال قي بلدية مدينة الشويفات، شدّد
على أهمية المبادرات الشبابية والجمعيات المحلية، مؤكدًا دعم البلدية المستمر للابتكار والتكنولوجيا ومشاريع
الذكاء الاصطناعي.
• السيد هيثم صعب، مؤسس ورئيس الجمعية، عرض رؤية الجمعية واستراتيجيتها لبناء منظومة ابتكارية قوية
وتشجيع التعاون بين مختلف الشركاء المحليين والدوليين.
• الآنسة جيسيكا حنّا، مسؤولة التنمية والابتكار في اليونيسف، تحدثت عن دور اليونيسف في تمكين الشباب
والمجتمعات، مثنيةً على دور جمعية روَاد الأعمال في الأرياف كشريك أساسي في عدة مناطق.
• السيدة انتصار الصايغ، مديرة مركز الجمعية في الشويفات وعريفة الحفل، قدمت برامج الجمعية وانجازاتها
وتأثيرها المجتمعي على المدى الطويل.

تضمّنت الفعالية مجموعة من قصص النجاح الملهمة لرواد أعمال استفادوا من برامج الجمعية و برنامج جيل،
منهم:
• أدهم شجاع – Major Match
• رينا ريشاني – حبكة إيد
• أيمن القاضي – Kade Lebanon
• داليا عياش – مونة داليا
• نور الحاج علي – Influence Hub
• قصة نجاح قدّمتها كريستينا يحيى، مستفيدة سابقة من برنامج جيل وعضو حالي في فريق الجمعية .

تكريم وجولة وكوكتيل
اختُتم اللقاء بتقديم دروع تقديرية لكل من:
• رئيس بلدية مدينة الشويفات، السيد نضال الجرد ي
• منظمة اليونيسف في لبنان
تبع ذلك جولة في المختبر الابتكاري في الشويفات وحفل كوكتيل، حيث تبادل المشاركون الأفكار وناقشوا فرص
التعاون.
لقد جسّدت هذه الفعالية روح الابتكار والتعاون وتمكين الشباب، وكان يومًا مُلهِمًا للروّاد المحليين وصنّاع
التغيير.
